Renovation and restoration works in the Town Hall

What work is happening at the Town Hall? What have we already done? Follow the progress and see the results.

Preparatory works

Sculpture attic

We are restoring the Town Hall's sculpture attic. We are clearing the attic with 880 works.

Paintings

We are removing the paintings from the town hall to protect them from dirt, dust and vibrations during the restoration.

Research and trial restorations

To prepare for the major works, we do surveys, trial cleanings and trial restorations.

Check how we set up the construction crane at the Town Hall

We put a construction crane on the Vrijthof square for the restoration work. This is necessary to fix the roofs, clean the walls and move materials and scaffolding safely. The crane will stay on site for the entire duration of the project.

We have restored the historic salons. These works have now been completed.
