Sticker for biodegradable waste (GFT)

In the sub-municipalities, we collect organic waste in a container for biodegradable waste. Place a valid sticker on your container every year.

Do you live in the city centre? In that case you don’t need a GFT container or sticker. We collect the biodegradable waste in green compostable bags.

When do you need a sticker?

A container for biodegradable waste must always have a valid sticker. You must replace the sticker every year:

  • From the beginning of January you can buy a sticker for the new year.
  • The container must have a valid sticker by 28 February at the latest.

Prices and number of stickers

  • Container of 40 liters
    1 sticker of € 27
  • Container of 120 liters
    1 sticker of € 65
  • Container of 240 liters
    2 stickers of € 65

Discount for new residents

Are you moving to Leuven after 31 March? If so, you'll pay less for a green waste sticker. The amount you pay depends on when you officially move in:

  • Between 1 April and 30 June: you pay 75% of the price
  • Between 1 July and 30 September: you pay 50% of the price
  • Between 1 October and 31 December: you pay 25% of the price

Attention Please keep your receipt.

Sticker damaged or stolen?

Request a new sticker. Visit the sanitation department during opening hours.

Damaged sticker? Bring the remains of your sticker with you.
