Restoration of the Town Hall
In 1937, the Town Hall was made a listed monument. We are restoring the Town Hall. In this process we are taking great care of the valuable elements and ensuring that history remains visible. There is a restoration plan for each room.
What interventions are we carrying out?
- We are cleaning the façade and restoring the façade sculptures.
- The interior rooms are undergoing a comprehensive restoration; we are restoring, for example, the floors, furniture, wallpaper and paintwork.
- We are restoring some rooms in accordance with their current appearance, for example:
- The Foyer
- The Gothic Hall
- The Mayor’s office and lecture hall
- We will once again make the historic decoration and function visible in rooms that were previously renovated so they became unrecognisable, for example:
- The council cellars
- Clerk’s room, treasury and register
- The salons on the first floor
- The sculpture attic
