Student with student visa who is studying at KU Leuven, UCLL or Luca: how to register?

What do you have to do?

Step 1: Submit your documents to KU Leuven, UCLL or Luca

2. The college or university forwards your documents to the city of Leuven.

3. You will receive an email with an invitation to collect the proof that you have submitted your registration application, viz. your ‘annex 15’, at the city office. It will be sent to your student email address.

Step 2: Collect your ‘annex 15’ at the city office

What do you need to bring?

Step 3: We check your address

  1. Meanwhile, a local police officer will visit to verify your address. Ensure that your name appears on the doorbell and letterbox.
  2. We will email you an invitation when you can apply for your residence permit. It can take up to 2 months before you receive one.

Step 4: Apply for residence card

You are required to make an appointment.
Do not make an appointment without invitation.

If you are not in Belgium, you can only make an appointment by phone.

  • Annex 15
  • € 20 (cash, debit card or credit card)

You do not need to bring a passport-size photo. We will take a photo during your appointment.
