What do you have to do?
Step 1: Submit your documents to KU Leuven, UCLL or Luca
Follow the instructions of
The college or university forwards your documents to the city of Leuven.
Step 2: Collect your ‘annex 15’ at the city office
You will receive an e-mail from the city at your student e-mail address. We invite you to collect your ‘appendix 15’ at the city office. This is the proof of your registration in the city registry.
Come to the city office, without appointment
Come during the opening hours of the city office. You do not require an appointment.
What do you need to bring?
- National passport
- 1 passport-size photo
- The photo is no more than 6 months old.
- Pay attention to the requirements (Dutch only).
- There is a photo booth in the city office.
Step 3: We check your address
- A local police officer will visit to verify your address. Ensure that your name appears on the doorbell and letterbox.
- We will email you an invitation when you can apply for your residence permit. It can take up to 2 months before you receive one.
Step 4: Apply for residence card
