After a marriage, the city prepares an official document, a marriage certificate. You can request a copy of it online.

Who can apply for this?
Certificate less than 75 years old

- Your legal representative
For example, your parent, adoptive parent or guardian if you are a minor. - Other person
If adding proof of legitimate interest.- Your spouse or partner with whom you legally cohabit
- Your parent or child
- Your heir
- Someone else
Then this person also has to add a consent from the person the certificate is about. Is that person deceased? Then a consent of an heir is needed.
Certificate 75 years old or more
Anyone can apply for this.

When will you receive the document?
- Self-applying with your electronic identity card
You will usually receive the document immediately in your mailbox. - Applied for someone else with your electronic identity card
You will receive the document in your mailbox after verification. - Applied for without electronic identity card
You will receive the document at your official address after approximately 5 business days. - Applied via e-mail
- You will receive the document at your official address after about 5 working days.
- You can also ask to collect the document at the city office, without appointment.
