Taxi driver's pass

Do you want to drive a taxi? If so, you need a valid driver's pass. A driver's pass is valid for five years.

Conditions

  • You have held a driving licence for at least two years.
  • You speak Dutch (at least language level B1).
  • You live in Leuven.

How do you apply?

1. Gather together the necessary documents

  • Copy of your identity card (front and back)
  • Copy of your driving licence with valid medical examination (front and back)
  • Extract from the criminal record for taxi drivers (model 596.1-28), less than three months old.
  • One of the following as proof of your language skills:
    • Diploma or certificate of higher secondary education
    • Certificate level B1 or 2.1
    • Certificate of primary education or certificate level A2 or 1.2 with a declaration of honour that you will achieve level B1 within two years.
  • For foreign nationals, proof of your permit to work in Belgium.
Keep your data up-to-date
  • The extract from the criminal record model 596.1-28 must be filed annually.
  • ​​​Changes of address or court rulings must be reported immediately.
