Ask for help
With Leuven Helps, people who need extra help on hot days can get support from volunteers. Anyone can ask for help, for themselves or for someone else.
You are always welcome in a neighbourhood centre or local service centre. You can get free cold water and have a chat.
Drink enough water
You can get free cold water at many places in Leuven.
Some places are always open. At others, you can only get water during opening hours.
Find a cool place
Do you want to leave your warm home for a while? You can go to these places:
- Parks or nature areas
- Churches (during opening hours)
Plant more green
With more plants and less paving around your home, your garden can better cope with extreme weather. Plants, trees and grass help keep your surroundings cooler on hot days. During rainy periods, more water can soak into the ground, reducing the risk of flooding.
