Damage on private property

  1. Contact your insurer to see if repairs are covered. Learn more about flood insurance.
  2. Contact a professional to carry out the repairs, such as a plumber or roofer.
  3. Report your damage to the Flemish Disaster Fund (in Dutch).

Damage on public property

  • Urgent reports (danger to passers-by or traffic)
    Call the free emergency number 112.

Need sandbags?

The city only distributes sandbags at the request of emergency services where there is actual flooding in homes.

We don't distribute sandbags as a precaution. You can buy them at a DIY store.
