How to make a copy of a foreign identity card or passport?
Read below which rules your copy must comply with. This will prevent any unnecessary delay when we process your application.
National passport
Make a copy in such a way that the page containing your biodata and photo and the page next to it appear on a single sheet (double page when the booklet is open).
National identity card
Make a copy of the front and back on a single sheet.
Front and back may appear next to or below each other on the page.
Is your place of birth mentioned on your identity card or passport?
Check whether your place of birth is mentioned on your identity card or passport. If this is not the case, you must provide us with another official document which proves your place of birth (e.g. birth certificate, family register, certificate from the embassy, …).
