In case you need fire brigade assistance

Call the free emergency number 1722 or report the problem online.

In case of (life) danger?

Call the free emergency number 112.

What to do in case of water damage?

  1. Contact your insurance provider to see if any repairs are covered.
    Read more about insurance in case of flooding (in Dutch).
  2. Contact a professional (plumber, roofer ...) to carry out the repairs.
  3. Report your damage to Vlaams Rampenfonds (in Dutch).

Sandbags

The city does not distribute sandbags proactively. Go to a hardware store to get sandbags.

Are you experiencing flooding? Call 016 31 72 00. The fire brigade will distribute sandbags where necessary in case of severe weather.
